VIS Campus Gateway Project

Project duration: March 2020 to July 2022
Client: Vientiane International School

Vientiane International School was established in 1991 under the auspices of the United Nations. It was moved to the current location in 1995 and has been continually expanding its campus and facilities and now offers up to a Grade 12 High School Program.

The Project comprises of the demolition of the changing room buildings and sport facilities to be replaced by two new buildings within the same footprint of the demolished buildings:

  • New construction of Fitness and Wellness Centre and Gymnasium; and
  • New construction of the Performing Arts and Administration building at the existing Sport facility building. This two-level building comprises of an auditorium, music and drama studios and administrative offices.

The new buildings will provide a more modern visual including some sustainability aspects such as natural ventilation, natural lighting, green space and solar power. Both buildings have long-spans (40m) structural steel frame and majority glazing. Initially, LCG worked with Architect EIW to turn their design concepts into detailed design and construction drawings for architectural, structural, civil and MEP components.

The scope of works also included the preparation of documents for construction permit application and tendering as well as assisting the client in the procurement of a contractor for the construction works. LCG was contracted to carry out the contract administration and construction supervision of the structural and architectural works by Vientiane International School.
