Manilay Bouavong Managing Director
Ms. Bouavong joined the company in 2000 and was appointed Managing Director in 2004. She has overseen LCGs transformational development from a local company providing national staff and support services to international consultants to being the Lead consultant in international bidding under AFD and ADB financed Projects in the Agriculture and Water Supply sectors. LCG has expanded collaboration with international firms and individual consultants and developed our capacity to provide services in a range of new sectors including architecture and data management; and expanded our client base to include the private sector in hydropower, mining and industry.
LCG’s Staff and Consultants
LCG has 60 permanent staff of highly skilled men and women comprising both Lao nationals and expatriates. Our multidisciplinary staff have a wide range of technical specializations and are our most valuable asset in terms of their technical backgrounds, and their knowledge of local institutional frameworks, government policies, and national and local cultures, norms and ethnic values.Graduates from universities around the globe bringing with them the skills and knowledge from diverse corners of the world to ensure an appropriate solution to our clients’ needs.We encourage our staff to extract their full potential through continuing to strengthen their knowledge and professional development by providing additional training and allocate time and resource to pursue higher degree courses in Lao PDR or overseas.
We have strong and highly experienced engineering and architecture departments. The services offered by our architectural department range from the design of individual houses, commercial buildings, mining camps and participation in the development of a green field university campus. The engineering department is staffed by structural, civil, urban planning, water resources, irrigation and roads engineers. LCG is currently implementing, along with an international partner, one of the first blue/green urban flood mitigation projects in Lao PDR.
Our social and environmental services department has extensive experience and expertise in data collection and analysis associated with safeguard studies and is familiar with safeguards compliance requirements of all the main international, regional and national agencies and those of the Lao PDR. The department also conducts Social Impact Assessment studies, and management.
To strengthen our project management including design, design review, implementation and construction supervision teams LCG employs specialists consultants on contract, LCG has had up to 100 contract consultants in the field in recent years, providing both continuous and intermittent inputs on projects with both long-term and short-term contracts. We maintain a roster of national and international consultants.
